Excitement is in the air.

Today I sent an email to my class with the word “LOOK” in the title.
All that the email contained was this image:

We started our blog at the beginning of the year with no visitors and a very empty Flag Counter. Our first goal was to attract 100 visitors. Then, when we had 1 000, we had a celebration! A casual dress day commemorated our 1 000th visitor.

Adam and Gilad had a map on the wall on which that they plotted new visitors. The map came down a few weeks ago when another teacher needed “wall space” , but our next target was to get to 2 500 visitors.

Gilad announced today, “Jina, look , we have over 2000 visits!”
“Yes.” I replied, “I wondered how long it would take you to realise”.
He beamed up at me. “The goal is 2500!”

When they had all gone home this evening, I hopped onto the flag counter (I don’t know if Gilad, Adam, one of the other kids or I get more excited by international visitors). I was delighted to see a visit from Turkey. So, I took a screen shot of the flag counter and sent it to my class.

Tonight, I have an email from Adam (who checks his email at home).
“And now it’s time to try find Turkey.”
No words needed …. The blog is serving many purposes. Creating opportunities for inquiry – one of the greatest!
