Today we gave children these ingredients and asked them to show their understanding of multiplication and division.
They decided to make arrays.
They chose a number and showed two different way of creating an array to represent their number.
Afterwards, they displayed their understanding of the operations by creating a presentation by making words problems using their arrays. This was a challenge and will be a focus in our next lesson.
The lesson for us as teachers? Food is a great motivator – and M and Ms are awesome for learning concepts and showing understanding Maths!
