How the world sees us …

I often listen to people talking. About themselves; about their teaching practice and I wonder. I wonder if they are talking about the same person that I see.

Something today made me think of this image :

I wonder if the way I perceive myself is the way my students, team, colleagues, family and friends perceive me.

Am I the educator I think I am? The one I want to be? Or am I something quite different?
How do others’ perceptions of us differ from our own?
Do we take cognizance of the differencing perceptions?
Do they matter ?
Do the children we teach perceive themselves in the way their peers and teachers do?
Should they ?
